Dean
Dean Vendramin teaches Math and Robotics at Archbishop M.C. O’Neill Catholic High School in Regina, Saskatchewan. He is his school’s 21st Century Skills Education Leader and also teaches part-time online for Regina Catholic School’s Learning Online Program. He’s passionate about discovering new approaches to math education, infusing educational technology, and building relationships with those he serves. Dean also coaches his school’s eSports Club and Titan Racing Crew. When he’s not at school he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and working out with his two boys. Maegan
Maegan Giroux is a dedicated mathematics instructional coach, specializing in supporting teachers in grades K-8. Currently pursuing her master’s thesis at the University of Regina, she is deeply passionate about disrupting power dynamics within mathematics classrooms. Maegan firmly believes in the power of growth mindset, productive struggle, and Thinking Classrooms to foster optimal learning environments. Alongside her academic pursuits, Maegan is also working on her upcoming book, “Building Thinking Math Tasks K-5,” which she is co-authoring with esteemed educator Peter Liljedahl. With her unwavering commitment to empowering both teachers and students, Maegan Giroux is making significant strides in advancing math education.
Kyle
Kyle Webb is the Numeracy Learning Consultant for Regina Catholic Schools in Regina, SK, Canada. Prior to working as a learning consultant, he taught grades 6 through 12 math, science, STEM, and worked as an educational technology teacher coach. Kyle is passionate about mathematics education, especially shaking up the status quo seen in traditional mathematics classrooms. He is a strong advocate and has worked closely with Peter Liljedahl in recent years diving deeper into the practices while directly supporting hundreds of classrooms and their teachers in implementing the 14 practices. Kyle spends most of his time in classrooms working with teachers and students and believes that rich, contextually based tasks and utilizing concrete and pictorial representations can propel student learning at all levels of mathematics.
